Mother's Day at the Flower Market

Mother's Day at the Flower Market

flowermarket1

Thought we'd share a few photos from the downtown L.A. flower market where we buy most of our flowers.

Since Jay worked at Mayesh Wholesale (one of the market's largest wholesalers) for so many years before opening the shop, he has many great relationships with growers and knows where to get the best product!

Flowers arrive daily at the flower market from every corner of the earth (except maybe Antarctica.) Roses from Ecuador, Calla lilies and Orchids from New Zealand, Tulips from Holland, along with dozens of varieties from our beautiful state of California and hundreds more from around the globe.

Every year, more than 250,000 members of the public visit the market.

Some of our favorite vendors are: Willie Sanchez, where we buy amazing Bells of Ireland, Sunflowers, Gerbers and Dahlias; Saito, the go-to guy for tall hybrid Delphinium and his perfect white and green Calla lilies; Endow, the purveyor of the most beautiful Ranunculus and Sweet Peas anywhere; and Indio Desert Floral, where we get our spectacular long stem roses and Oriental lilies.
