Composed of several large pieces of natural Manzanita wood native to Northern California, the tree is covered in a variety of orchids, succulents, live mosses and tillandsias, all of which are considered sustainable because they were locally, organically grown and have a very low need for water.
The Eco-Tree is planted in an Acacia wood bowl that was made from trees felled naturally by hurricane in Fiji. Known for its hardness and unique woodgrain pattern, Acacia has no commercial lumber value due to the many insects that burrow in the wood, filling it with the holes that give the wood its distinctive look.
